Glow Rope

The rope is made of a strong nylon and can be charged with about 1 minute of direct sunlight, 10 seconds with a flashlight, or 10 minutes of ambient light.  According to the factory’s testing, this rope will glow vividly in dark conditions for about 8 hours without a light recharge.  It can be terrific for camping situations.  It is also made with highly reflective filaments woven into the polyester sheath, so you are guaranteed to have a highly reflective product in times where a sufficient charge is not possible. $2.50 per foot.

By adding strontium aluminate to a dopium such as europium, a luminance phosphor is created that is offered by CosasPrep as a class of safety products.  Not simply reflective, as is commonly available, these products actually glow.  Whether marking the sides of steps with a glowing strip, roping off an area that might not be easily seen at night, or wearing a safety vest that does not require reflection, these products absorb light and then glow for hours afterwards. While they are best charged by sunlight, other light also charges the luminance of these products.
